Ros Barron

Although she has been deeply involved with the video medium – beginning as a 'video pioneer' in the early 1970s and screened in a retrospective at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston – Ros Barron has never stopped painting.

Starting with the works in her initial, 1963 painting exhibition, she has been painting "events" – from the Dotland series to her Horizon and Seachord paintings of the 1970s and 1980s – as well as the erotic and enigmatic encaustic drawings in Brockbottom Gallery's 1996 survey exhibition.

Barron has continued to paint events "...visual dramas in the surreal world of my mind."
